Broadcast Team
Garland Mahan
Garland Mahan joined the broadcast in 2005. His son Whit, who later quarterbacked the Cougars to the state title game, was a sophomore on that team. Whit graduated after the 2007 season and Garland stayed on as the Play by Play guy. Garland is not only the play by play guy but he plays a major part in getting the broadcast ready for the season with fundraising, support, and involvement in the off season. Garland bleeds blue and you can hear that in his calls of each and every game. You can reach Garland at garland@goodpastureradio.com

- Tom Jones - Color Commentator
Tom is an original from the early days of Cougar Radio. In 2003 Cougar Radio started as an internet only broadcast. Over the years it has developed into much more. Originally Tom was the Play by Play man. At least until 2006 when he took a hiatus to spend some time traveling with his family. Tom rejoined the broadcast in 2007 and has been the color man ever since. Tom’s son Will is remembered as a big hero on the 2001 State Championship team. He blocked a punt for a touchdown in the semi finals against Alcoa that won the game for the Cougars. In the state title game he stripped a punt returner of the football that was recovered for a touchdown to seal the win over Westview 14-0. Tom is a big part of the foundation of the broadcast as he and Garland form the voice of Cougar Radio.

Chris Eakes

Chris Eakes - Producer
Chris is actually the person that invented Cougar Radio. After his brother Chase graduated he had the idea of trying to get more publicity and recongition for the young men on the team, as well as the coaches and school. In 2003 he started the broadcast going directly to web and tape delaying the games by posting them on a new website. The website was called GoodpastureFootball.com. In 2006 he found a radio station in AM 1360 in Nashville that now carries the games live as well as live on their internet streaming feed. Chris is in charge of sales, marketing, equipment design, engineering design, and web development. Chris has a broadcast degree from Middle Tennessee and has spent the last decade working in the Information Technology Consultant industry. As his hobby you can hear him weekly in the fall on 104.5 The Zone in Nashville. You can hear him both on the Wake Up Zone on Friday Mornings and the High School Finals Zone on Friday nights after the games. Chris is one of the leading high school football analysts in Tennessee. If you have question for Chris or are interested in being a sponsor then you can reach him at webmaster@goodpasturefootball.com.
